As part of the KLIMOPASS project “Sensitivity ranges of sector-specific climate parameters in Baden-Württemberg - the sensitivity traffic light”, sector-specific climate parameters are being evaluated.

Global climate change has an impact on the regional climate. For this reason, Baden-Württemberg's industries will find themselves in a changed climate in the future. However, not every industry is equally affected by climate change and can adapt to climate change in the same way and to the same extent.

For this reason, surveys on sector-specific climate parameters and the sensitivity areas of these sectors to climate change are carried out in this project. These sensitivity areas are classified using the red, yellow and green colors of a traffic light. Finally, coupling with regional climate simulations makes it possible to analyze the projected development of the parameters. A superimposition of the climate parameters with spatially differentiated climate simulations can ultimately show whether and to what extent there will be a regional need for action for an industry - the “sensitivity traffic light”.

An important aim of the project is to communicate the knowledge gained to the sectors under consideration. To this end, maps are made available in printed form and on a website for comparison and interpretation purposes in coordination with the industries and the LUBW. This necessary feedback is aimed at increasing awareness in the industries and at a direct and practical transfer of climate research results for adaptation measures in Baden-Württemberg.

The final report of the project can be found here.
